NEW: Super-Res Radar + StormNet

super-res radar stormnet ai severe weather forecast system

StormNet is our new severe weather forecast system that produces real-time, high-resolution forecasts for lightning, hail, damaging thunderstorm winds, and tornadoes.

The model ingests 125 million weather data points and updates every 2 minutes to provide hourly forecasts for the next 7 days.

Super-Res Radar is the highest-resolution radar data available from 159 stations across the continental United States.

Each radar station updates every 3-4 minutes and measures the intensity of precipitation based on how much energy the radar signal receives back from objects in the atmosphere, like raindrops or snowflakes.

Combined, Super-Res Radar + StormNet provides a first-of-its-kind, multiple-component AI severe weather forecast system for the United States.

There was an incredible amount of work involved to transition a technology like this from research to real-time, reliable operations, and our team is proud to bring this technology to the public.
