Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics Forecasts

OpenSnow is happy to announce that we will be providing forecast updates for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. As you would expect, weather plays a critical role in winter sporting events, and having a reliable forecast is crucial for both the event's organizers, participants, and the fans traveling to enjoy the spectacle.
Overview
The Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games will take place from February 4-22 in northern Italy. Events will be spread across the region at nearly a dozen separate venues.

The opening ceremonies, as well as sports such as figure skating, ice hockey, speed skating, and short-track skating, will take place in the city of Milano. The closing ceremonies will be held in the historic city of Verona.
Men's and Women's Alpine Skiing will take place in two separate locations. The men's competitions will be on the famed Bormio Stelvio ski slope. The women's ski competitions, however, will be a 5-hour drive to the east in Cortina, high in the Dolomites.
Moguls and Aerials will take place in Livigno. The biathlon competition is even farther northeast near the Austrian border at Antholz-Anterselva. Cross-Country ski events will take place in Tesero with ski jumping competitions nearby in Predazzo.
Needless to say, these locations are spread out across a vast portion of northern Italy, in separate sub-ranges of the Alps and at various elevations. As such, weather patterns will impact each location differently. It is highly likely that viewers of the Olympics will notice how different the weather will be for different events, even while they are occurring concurrently.
Below, in the Forecast section, you will find a daily forecast summary write-up that will be updated each day through the end of the competition. We have also created an Olympic-specific Location Forecast Page, so you can view up-to-date forecasts for each venue on one page.
