Forecast Verification: January 21, 2026 5-Day Snowfall

OpenSnow prides itself on providing credible and accurate mountain weather forecasts, while also being transparent about our mistakes.

We looked back at the 5-day snow forecast from January 21, 2026, to compare against how much snow fell through January 25, 2026, at popular ski resorts with reliable snow reporting data in Colorado and New Mexico.

The result? We under-forecasted by 2% against the total snowfall.
