First-Aid Kit Checklist

One of the most important aspects of any daypack is a well-stocked first-aid kit. You may rarely ever have to use it but if you begin to form blisters miles away from the car or get a cut that won’t stop bleeding, it will turn into your best friend. Any outdoor retailer will be able to help you find the right pre-assembled kit but here’s a basic list to reference when you are getting ready for your next adventure:

Antiseptic wipes

Antibacterial ointment

Assorted adhesive bandages

Butterfly bandages/adhesive wound-closure strips

Gauze pads

Nonstick sterile pads

Medical adhesive tape

Blister treatment kit

Ibuprofen or other pain-relief medication

Insect-sting relief treatment

Antihistamine to treat allergic reactions

Instant ice pack

Splinter tweezers

Safety pins

First-aid manual.

Now that you are stocked with the essentials, are you properly trained to administer first aid? Knowing the basics of how to administer first-aid is highly recommended for anyone spending time in the outdoors. Take the time to get educated and you will have the added confidence when you are miles away from help.
